A Record Worth Examining
Facts District 7 Voters Deserve to Know

What’s Really Happening in Florida’s 7th District? Before you cast your vote, you deserve to know the full record.
It’s about character, credibility, and whether the people of Florida’s 7th District can trust the person representing them in Washington.
Over the last year, a steady stream of investigative reporting, sworn statements, court findings, and official inquiries have placed Congressman Cory Mills under intense scrutiny. These are not anonymous internet rumors — they come from mainstream outlets, public records, judicial proceedings, and members of Congress themselves.
The question is no longer whether controversy exists. The question is how much is too much for a sitting member of Congress.
When documented controversies surround a sitting member of Congress in nearly every major category — military service, finances, ethics, personal conduct, foreign entanglements, and voting record — the question is no longer whether controversy exists. The question is how much is too much for a sitting member of Congress.
Voters deserve transparency, accountability, and full disclosure before making a decision.
Below is a detailed overview of the documented concerns.
1. Voting Record & Legislative Contradictions
Mills campaigned on an “America First” platform — promising border security, anti-terror measures, and conservative accountability.
Yet Mills’ votes appear inconsistent with his platform, including:
-
Voting AGAINST Protecting Our Border & Protecting Us from Terrorism
-
Voting AGAINST Tracking jihadists Crossing Our Borders
-
Voting AGAINST multiple Amendments to stop aid to Terrorist Countries
-
Being one of only 4 Republicans to side with democrats and vote against censuring Representative Ilhan Omar.
Cory Mills votes time and again to send our money to the middle east while Americans struggle. Does that sound like America first to you?
Campaign promises matter less than actual votes.
The congressional record is public — and it speaks for itself.
2. Conflict of Interest & Foreign Entanglement Concerns
Investigative reporting has also raised concerns about potential conflicts of interest related to Mills’s defense industry connections while serving on committees such as Armed Services and Foreign Affairs.
Key questions include:
-
Whether ongoing foreign business entanglements were fully disclosed.
-
Whether weapons exports or related transactions overlapped with his oversight responsibilities.
-
Whether holding oversight authority over industries connected to his own professional history presents a conflict.
When lawmakers regulate industries from which they may benefit — directly or indirectly — transparency is not optional. It is essential to maintaining public trust.
3. House Ethics Committee Investigation
The United States House Committee on Ethics has opened an investigation into Congressman Mills for a broad range of potential violations, including:
-
Campaign finance violations
-
Improperly solicited or received gifts
-
Privately sponsored, officially connected travel
-
Allegations that he received special favors by virtue of his office
-
Allegations involving sexual misconduct and dating violence
An ethics probe at this level is significant. These investigations are not opened lightly. They reflect serious, documented concerns that warrant formal review.
4. Military Record & Bronze Star Controversy
Congressman Mills built his public identity around being a decorated combat veteran and hero of the Iraq War. However, reporting has raised serious inconsistencies surrounding his Bronze Star and battlefield claims.
Among the documented concerns:
-
A Bronze Star recommendation form created more than 20 years after the Iraq War.
-
Campaigning during which he publicly stated he possessed the award — 4 years before the recommendation was even submitted.
-
A recorded statement from the cited recommending general denying that he wrote, reviewed, or personally signed the documentation - his signature was forged. In a recorded phone conversation, General Bray told Congresswoman Nancy Mace “on a phone call dated Sept. 21, 2025, 3:49pm EDT, that he did NOT WRITE, READ, REVIEW OR PERSONALLY SIGN THE DOCUMENTATION.”
-
Multiple members of Mills’s former unit dispute the heroic events described in the forged Bronze Star recommendation. “Joe Heit, one of the men whom Mills claims to have helped, told the outlet Notus last year that Mills ‘didn’t save my life.’” “Chris Painter, Heit’s platoon sergeant, corroborated Heit’s account based on his experience at the battle. ‘I can pretty much confirm 100% Cory Mills was not up at the bridges at the location of…everything.’” “It leaves Mills as the only alleged witness of his own broadly refuted claims of valor during the battle. Mills is not mentioned in any of reporting or recollections from those who were there.” (Mother Jones, Notus)
-
Another of the soldiers, Sgt. First Class Joe Ferrand, wrote and signed a statement denying Mills’ dramatic tale of heroically rescuing him ever occurred, refuting another of the claims made on Mills’ Bronze Star recommendation. “The act never took place. The event never happened…. [It is] false and a [f]abrication.” (Mother Jones, Notus)
-
“Despite describing himself as an Afghanistan veteran, Mills never served there while in the military.” (Mother Jones)
-
Additionally, public claims of being “blown up twice” and “wounded twice” overseas are inconsistent with official records and timelines cited in reporting. Official records show only a concussion and a clean return to duty. Despite recounting two roadside bombing incidents as “wounds,” Mills clarified in an interview that medical review only recorded a concussion — nothing resembling a combat injury. Blaze Media
-
Several of the contractors Cory Mills worked with at DYNCorp have come forward on the record accusing him of fabricating sniper, Ranger, and combat credentials — casting serious doubt on Mills’s self-portrayed military legacy. Blaze Media
-
When asked to show his DD214, former DYNCorp colleagues say Mills refused — and quit.
Military service is honorable. But embellishment, contradiction, or document irregularities demand transparency — especially when used as a political foundation.
5. Afghanistan Rescue Mission & Conduct Overseas
Mills has repeatedly claimed he led and funded high-profile rescue efforts in Afghanistan, Israel, and Haiti.
However, investigative reporting from NOTUS and coverage by the Daily Mail and other reports describe allegations that:
-
While traveling overseas en route to Afghanistan, he allegedly hired sex workers multiple times.
-
Members of his group reportedly considered his conduct a security risk.
-
He was separated from portions of the mission.
-
Despite this, he later used imagery and narrative from the mission in campaign materials portraying himself as the central heroic figure.
-
Mills claimed he paid for the Israel rescues, that they were free for passengers; the Stonepoint Church group had to pay over $39,000 for rescheduled and rerouted flights. Glenn Beck / Mercury One paid for the charter plane that others came back to the U.S. on.
-
Tony Marinello of Tropic Air Rescue led and paid for the Haiti rescue Mills rode along on. Marinello conducted additional rescues after Mills went back to DC. Mills missed 7 votes during his Haiti ride along.
6. Business Dealings, Debt & Financial Questions
Public reporting has detailed mounting concerns surrounding Mills’s business ventures, including:
-
A company reportedly carrying tens of millions of dollars in debt.
-
Employees allegedly furloughed and unpaid right before the holidays.
-
Business closures and foreclosure actions.
-
Lawsuits and disputes involving contracts and product performance.
-
Matters involving U.S. Customs & Border Protection, including potential fraud.
Separately, reports and filings reference:
-
Eviction actions, including one involving a $21,000-per-month Washington, D.C. penthouse.
-
Lavish travel expenditures.
-
Questions surrounding campaign finance activity and financial disclosure reporting.
When a sitting member of Congress sits on committees overseeing defense and foreign affairs, financial entanglements and undisclosed liabilities are not minor issues — they are potential vulnerabilities.
7. Personal Conduct Allegations & Judicial Findings
Multiple women have publicly alleged troubling conduct by Congressman Mills. These are not single isolated accusations — they involve separate individuals in separate incidents
Reported matters include:
-
A Washington, D.C. incident involving alleged physical altercation and police involvement.
-
Audio reportedly capturing statements where Cory told his girlfriend to lie about how she got the bruises.
-
Judicial findings that portions of Mills’s testimony were “not truthful.” Allegations of harassment, cyberstalking, coercion, and inappropriate pressure. A judge determined that the former partner had been subjected to “dating violence” via cyberstalking. A Florida court granted a protective order to the former girlfriend.
-
Reports that divorce filings occurred later than publicly suggested, despite prior representations that proceedings had long been underway.
Courts operate on evidence and sworn testimony. When judicial findings question credibility, voters should take notice.
A Pattern Too Large to Ignore
Military contradictions.
Financial scrutiny.
Ethics investigation.
Judicial findings.
Voting inconsistencies.
Foreign entanglement concerns.
Any one of these issues would merit attention.
Together, they represent a pattern that has placed a cloud over District 7’s representation.
Leadership requires honesty.
Representation requires credibility.
Public trust requires integrity.
