Michael Don Johnson Announces Campaign for U.S. Congress in Florida’s 7th District

Decorated Veteran and Longtime Seminole County Resident Pledges to Restore Integrity, Accountability, and Moral Values in Washington, D.C.

Altamonte Springs, FL — 21 November 2025 — Michael Don Johnson, a highly decorated veteran and lifelong Republican, has officially announced his campaign for the United States Congress representing Florida’s 7th District. A longtime resident of Seminole County, Johnson brings more than three decades of service in federal defense and investigative work exposing and stopping fraud, waste, and abuse in government. Johnson is dedicated to protecting America’s interests, championing fiscal responsibility, and strengthening national security.

After 36 years of federal service, Johnson says he’s running because the people of District 7 deserve a representative who will always stand for transparency, accountability, and the constitutional right to free speech. “I will never vote to silence debate in Congress, especially regarding threats made by fellow members,” said Johnson. “The American people deserve honesty and open dialogue — not backroom deals.”

Johnson’s campaign emphasizes restoring integrity and unity within the Republican Party and giving voters a leader who serves the people, not personal interests. “Our district needs a voice focused on results, not scandals or self-promotion,” Johnson added. “I’m running to bring common-sense solutions back to Washington and put our community first.”

If elected, Johnson will introduce legislation and appropriations for Florida First projects, working to revitalize our energy sectors, enhance school choice for American values, impose term limits, support law and order, and protect America from foreign interference. This includes introducing legislation that would require all Members of the House and Senate, and all Federal Judges, to be American-born citizens.

Locally, Johnson is focused on the issues most affecting Central Florida families — including record-high property and utility costs, rising insurance premiums, wasteful government spending, and skyrocketing living expenses. He also pledges to fight for federal resources that strengthen Florida’s infrastructure, reduce roadway gridlock, and enhance flood control and public safety measures, while also pushing back against over-construction to preserve Florida’s natural beauty.

Nationally, Johnson is committed to advancing conservative, America First principles — including fiscal responsibility, expanding opportunities for American business, a strong national defense, election integrity, and eliminating wasteful, out-of-control government spending.
